Road Trip 2 - Padarn Country Park.

Next stop, Pardarn Country Park, home of the National Slate Museum. I have never seen so much grey in all my life. Slate is a miserable material. Luckely the museum is hidden by lush greenery and breathtaking scenery.

Road Trip 1 - Bangor

We started in Bangor, Wales and stayed with my aunty Sara and Uncle Pete. Sara Swims everyday, preferably in fresh water, so she took us to this little beach which we had to ourselves for the afternoon.

Newstead Abbey

We went to Newstead Abbey and tried to barter with the woman selling tickets at the gate. We managed to persuaded her that we were students and got in at a reduced rate. Feeling pretty pleased with ourselves, we walked from the car park to the Abbey only to be told that it was closed. Adam reckons she had kind eyes but i'm not convinced. She knew what she was doing.

Abandoned Factory

Earlier today Ad installed security cameras at this abandoned factory, that's how we knew the best way to get in. There was a bloke sat drinking Three Hammers Cider who looked like he had spent the day grafting. He didn't want his picture took sadly, but did describe the setting as being "like Beirut". I reckon this is quite a sacred place for him, between work and home. Somewhere he can be alone and drink without judgement or fear of getting caught. I don't think he was expecting to see us, but he made us feel very welcome.

Dr Carouse's Shimmy in the Shire '10

My good friend Ollie has been inviting me to Shimmy in the Shire for years now, finally i was able to make it. Its a minifestival that he puts on every year, where friends and friends of friends gather together, laugh, dance and sleep in tents. The setting was beautiful, with secret little areas hidden around the site, several campfires and pagan like masked figures dancing by fire light.

The Room

The Room was created during a particularly heavy drinking session. Born out of the frustration and monotony of life's repeating cycle.

The man who introduced me to photography

This is Dan Wheeler, the man who introduced me to photography. I have always had an interest being from an AV background, but it was Dan who convinced me of the benefits of using film and developing my own photographs. We work together in a small office where we fix things, sell art supplies and occasionaly have staple gun fights. During the quiet moments we often discuss photography and i can saftly say i have learnt the majority of my knowledge from him. He practically gave me my first camera, a pentax ME super, which is what i used to take these pictures. To see some real photography, go HERE
