Cavendish Road Art and Design Site

This is the college where i used to work, rundown, vandalised and due to be demolished. The site was a purpose built art and design building with tv studios, recording studios, workshops and a theatre. It was closed to sell the land last year in an attempt to scrape together some money as the college is in massive debt. A real waste of a great enviroment as it is still standing derelict and unused.
We were there to do some last minute looting before everything was thrown in a skip. The pictures were taken with a £2 toy panoramic camera with fuji neopan 400 film.

Light trails

I shot these light trails with kodak elite Chrome 100 slide film cross processed with an aperture of f/22 for varying times from the dash of my moving car.

The shot below is with the same settings only i was stationary at the side of the road. i have no idea how it came out looking negative.

Animation test 4

I am much happier with this take, shot on a full 36 exposure roll of 100 asa film. we rehersed this for a good half an hour before shooting to ensure a good speed of action. the problem i will face now is shooting any scene longer than this. It may be possible if i shoot from a tripod and keep the actors dead still while changing rolls?

Rotoscope test 1

Rotoscope test 1. i copied 17 frames from an upturned monitor onto tracing paper using watercolour paint and indian ink.

Nottingham University Park

Here are some photos from Nottingham University Park. My mate Ad and i decided to go for a drive, find a tree and climb it. After a couple of cigarettes and some childhood flashbacks i took some pictures on Ilford hp5 400 film.

Notts Square Bus Animation

Animation test 3. Only 4 frames this time, with the first frame doubled up.

Benny Ramone Animation Test

This is Benny Ramone. Animation test two, shot with pentax me super with auto winder and illford hp5 400 asa film. It is too jerky for me, he was pulling faces in slow motion, but not slow enough. i still need to work out the speed of action to get a good 8-12 frames per second.
